• LuLu's Destin — Loud, festive, sand floors, live music, and a wait that can hit 90 minutes Saturday evening. Call ahead to get on the waitlist before you arrive. Key lime pie, grouper sandwich, frozen drinks — the classic Labor Day Destin restaurant experience.
• AJ's Seafood & Oyster Bar — The HarborWalk rooftop with harbor views is where the Labor Day social energy concentrates in the evenings. Half-price oyster happy hour 4–7pm. The noise level is high but the setting is genuinely great on a warm September evening.

For breakfast: The Donut Hole on US-98 is a Destin institution worth at least one visit — enormous pancakes, eggs benedict, strong coffee — but the wait on a holiday weekend morning runs 20–45 minutes. Go at 7:30am or after 10:30am to keep it reasonable.
