On July 6th, one of 30A's most spectacular and unspoiled natural spaces becomes a stargazer's paradise. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park — home to rare coastal dune lakes, towering sand dunes, and pristine Gulf beachfront — partners with the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association (NWFAA) for a magical evening of solar and celestial exploration.

The adventure begins before sunset with solar telescope viewing, where NWFAA members safely show you sunspots, solar flares, and the surface of our star in stunning detail. Then, as the Gulf Coast sky deepens from gold to indigo, the telescopes tilt skyward to reveal planets, star clusters, nebulae, and the glittering Milky Way. NWFAA volunteers guide visitors with genuine enthusiasm and patience, making it magical for kids and adults alike.

There's no additional fee beyond regular park admission, and Topsail Hill's protected coastal environment provides exceptional dark-sky viewing. Arrive early to enjoy the park's stunning Gulf beach and rare coastal dune lakes before the evening program begins. Topsail Hill is one of the most beautiful and least-crowded gems on the entire 30A coast — an evening here is as peaceful as it is awe-inspiring.
