<p>Every November, the Emerald Coast comes alive with the rhythms of Native American culture as the Thunderbird Intertribal Powwow returns to Niceville. Now in its 38th year, this beloved three-day gathering welcomes traditional dancers, drummers, flute players, storytellers, and artisans from tribes across the country to share their heritage with the entire community.</p><p>Stroll through the grounds at Twin Oaks Park and discover handcrafted jewelry, pottery, and artwork made by Indigenous makers. Watch mesmerizing competition dancing — from the graceful Fancy Shawl to the powerful Grass Dance — and feel the earth resonate with communal drums that have been beating for generations. It's an experience that transcends any ordinary festival and connects visitors to something ancient, meaningful, and enduring.</p><p>The powwow makes a perfect day trip from Destin or 30A — Niceville is less than 30 minutes away. Admission is kept intentionally affordable so the celebration is accessible to all, with children under three admitted free.
