<p>Every summer from June 1 through July 31, the Summer Slam at the Boathouse Oyster Bar & Marina puts Destin's legendary Gulf fishing to the ultimate test. This isn't a one-day competition — it's an eight-week season that keeps Destin Harbor buzzing from the first day of summer through July, drawing anglers from across the region to the World's Luckiest Fishing Village.</p><p>Anglers compete targeting prime Gulf species including Red Snapper and Wahoo, with bonus points awarded for Black Snapper, Red Grouper, and King Mackerel. The catch-and-weigh format runs with scales open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM, so every morning trip out to the Destin Banks is a fresh shot at the leaderboard. Visiting anglers staying for a week can register and compete alongside local pros who know these emerald waters intimately.</p><p>Even non-anglers will enjoy watching the action — head to the Boathouse dock during weigh-in hours for the thrill of seeing trophy-class Gulf fish come across the scale, and the atmosphere at this iconic Destin Harbor landmark is pure summer Gulf Coast. The tournament wraps with an awards celebration honoring the season's biggest catches.</p>
