Celebrate nesting season with ranger-led education, sea turtle cake & a walk to the most pristine stretch of Florida Gulf beach.

Every summer, loggerhead sea turtles haul ashore at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park to nest on its strikingly pristine beaches — and every August, the park throws a celebration worthy of the occasion. The Sea Turtle Baby Shower is a free, family-friendly evening event where park rangers share fascinating facts about nesting biology, sea turtle conservation, and what you can do to help hatchlings make it safely to the sea.

The festivities go beyond the educational: there's a sea turtle-themed cake, photo opportunities near nest markers, and an optional guided walk to the shoreline at golden hour. Topsail Hill's beach is consistently rated among the most unspoiled on the entire Gulf Coast — three rare coastal dune lakes sit just behind the shoreline, and the white quartz sand stretches unbroken in both directions.

This is one of those only-in-Florida evenings that vacation memories are made of. Bring a beach blanket, pack a picnic if you'd like, and arrive a bit early to explore the park's trails before the program begins. Kids especially love meeting the park's passionate ranger staff and learning how they protect one of the world's most beloved marine creatures.
