The Run for the Reef is one of the Gulf Coast's most scenic and purposeful races, drawing runners and walkers to Navarre Beach each October for a 5K or 10K along sparkling Gulf Boulevard. The course winds beside the emerald water before finishing dramatically under the famous Navarre Beach Pier — one of the most memorable finish lines anywhere on the Florida Panhandle.
Every registration dollar supports sea turtle protection through the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center, one of the Gulf Coast's most dedicated marine conservation organizations. It's a race that gives back directly to the coastline you're running through, making every stride feel meaningful. Whether you're a competitive runner or walking the 5K with the family, the experience is equally rewarding.
After crossing the finish line, the celebration continues with a beach party cookout featuring awards, raffle prizes, and great company on the sand. Navarre Beach is a scenic 45-minute drive from Destin and makes a perfect fall day-trip race destination. Register early — this event has grown every year and fills up fast.
