Swashbuckling pirates meet Renaissance revelry in this FREE Columbus Day weekend festival on Panama City Beach.
Friday, October 9 - Sunday, October 11, 2026
Aaron Bessant Park
600 Pier Park Drive
Panama City Beach, FL 32413
Ahoy! Every Columbus Day weekend, Panama City Beach is invaded by pirates, knights, and Renaissance revelers for one of the Gulf Coast's most theatrical and family-friendly free festivals. The Pirates of the High Seas & Renaissance Fest transforms Aaron Bessant Park into a swashbuckling spectacle with dramatic pirate invasions, a costumed king and queen court, a kids' parade, and a grand main parade that winds through the beachside streets with color and pageantry.
Live entertainment fills three days with performers in full period costume β sword fighters, acrobats, fire jugglers, fair maidens, and buccaneers all taking the stage or roaming the festival grounds. Vendors peddle everything from handcrafted jewelry to enormous turkey legs, and the aroma of smoky, savory fare drifts through the salty Gulf breeze. After dark, the festival closes each evening with fireworks lighting up the beach sky in a memorable finale.
Best of all, admission is completely free, making this one of the best value events on the Emerald Coast. Whether you come in full pirate regalia or simply show up in shorts and sunglasses, Pirates of the High Seas is rollicking, feel-good fun for the entire family β and a Gulf Coast fall tradition that keeps growing year after year.
