The Operation Outdoor Freedom Trailfest is one of the most meaningful and scenic races you can run in Florida. Taking place September 12, 2026 at the Eastern Lake Trailhead near Watercolor on Scenic Highway 30A, this trail festival offers 5K, 10K, and 10-mile course options through some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes on the Gulf Coast — coastal dune forests, rare freshwater coastal dune lakes, and the longleaf pine ecosystems of South Walton State Forests.

All proceeds benefit Operation Outdoor Freedom, a non-profit that provides outdoor recreational experiences for wounded veterans. By running this race, you're not just challenging yourself — you're giving back to the men and women who made the freedom to enjoy this beautiful coastline possible. The event draws runners from across the Southeast who return year after year for the course quality, the cause, and the post-race camaraderie on 30A.

Packet pickup is the evening before at Fleet Feet Inlet Beach (Friday, September 11, 4-6 PM). The race starts at 7 AM, so you'll finish well before the heat of the afternoon. September on 30A is spectacular — warm Gulf water, cooling air temperatures, and the first hints of the shoulder season's calm. It's an active vacation adventure with a deeper purpose.
