<p>There is nothing quite like standing on the tarmac at NAS Pensacola as the U.S. Navy Blue Angels scream overhead at 700 mph in perfect formation — and the Homecoming Air Show is where they do it best. Every November, the beloved Blue Angels return to their home base in Pensacola, Florida, for a two-day spectacular that draws aviation fans from across the Southeast. Gates open at 8 AM each morning, with ground displays, military aircraft static exhibits, and aerial performers taking the stage beginning at 9:30 AM before the Blue Angels themselves take flight around 2 PM.</p><p>The NAS Pensacola Homecoming Show is entirely distinct from the summertime Pensacola Beach Air Show — this one happens on base, giving visitors rare access to the actual airfield and a closer look at military aviation history. The National Naval Aviation Museum, one of the largest air and space museums in the world, is located right on base and is the perfect complement to the show-day experience — free to visit year-round but especially magical during the air show weekend.</p><p>Located just over an hour drive from Destin and Miramar Beach, this makes for an unforgettable day trip to cap off a fall Panhandle vacation.
