Every August, the Emerald Coast's most iconic powerboating tradition returns: the Emerald Coast Poker Run, now in its 28th year of roaring engines, coastal camaraderie, and big-hearted giving. Hundreds of performance powerboats converge on Fort Walton Beach for a weekend of nautical excitement that benefits Destin Kids on The Coast, a local 501(c)3 charity serving area children.
The action kicks off Tuesday, August 11 with check-in at The Island Hotel on Okaloosa Island, followed by the legendary Captain's Party at AJ's on the Bayou from 5:30-8:30 PM. Wednesday is the main event: boats roar off from 10 AM to 4 PM, hitting checkpoints along a route spanning Fort Walton Beach, Navarre Beach, Pensacola Beach, and Destin. That evening, the After-Party features gaming, a silent auction, live music, and an all-you-can-eat buffet.
For waterfront spectators, this is one of summer's most thrilling free shows. Head to the harbor or bayfront to watch sleek high-performance powerboats blast through Choctawhatchee Bay. Every boat registration supports local kids, making this a celebration with real heart behind all that horsepower.
Powerboat enthusiasts, families, and anyone who loves waterfront spectacle while supporting children's charities
