About this event

Destin's most playful nautical tradition returns for its 4th year! The Crab Island Duck Boat Run kicks off at Joe's Bayou at 9:30 AM, where dozens of colorful amphibious duck boats gather before making a festive convoy across the water to the legendary Crab Island sandbar. It's the Florida panhandle's most fun-on-the-water event, blending community camaraderie with the laid-back Gulf Coast spirit that makes Destin so special.

Crab Island itself is already one of the most beloved summer destinations in the area — a shallow sandbar in the Destin harbor where boaters anchor up, wade in crystal-clear water, enjoy food trucks floating nearby, and soak in the summer sunshine. Add a parade of whimsical duck boats to the mix and you've got a guaranteed highlight of your beach vacation. Participants are encouraged to stay as long as they like; this is an all-day adventure with no formal end time.

If you have access to a duck boat or pontoon, launching from Joe's Bayou lets you join the convoy. Spectators can also rent kayaks or paddleboards to observe the fun, or hop on one of Destin's many water taxi services heading to Crab Island. Bring sunscreen, snacks, and your best beach attitude — this is what Destin summers are all about.
