About this event

Nestled on the sprawling Nokuse Plantation preserve in Freeport, the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center is opening its gates to the public every Friday, year-round, starting September 4, 2026. This is a rare chance to step away from the beach crowds and into one of Florida's most pristine natural landscapes — a 55,000-acre longleaf pine ecosystem teeming with wildlife.

Visitors can stroll self-guided trails, discover interactive nature exhibits, and meet over 40 resident ambassador animals. Animal chats, guided hikes, live feedings, and special creature encounters bring the natural world to life for kids and adults alike. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, a parent looking for something memorable off the beaten path, or just a curious traveler — this is one of the Emerald Coast's most unique experiences.

Admission is $15 for adults (13+), $10 for kids ages 4-12, and free for children under 3. Tickets can be booked in advance online. Families planning an extended stay on the Emerald Coast will find that a Friday morning at the Biophilia Center makes for an unforgettable alternative to another day on the sand.
