Imagine winding through a beautifully decorated resort village at twilight, surrounded by dozens of glowing handcrafted lanterns, giant illuminated puppets, and decorated golf carts all moving together in a joyful procession - that is the magic of Baytowne Wharf's beloved annual Holiday Lantern Parade. Created by artist Chantelle Rytter and the festive Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons, this free community event is one of the most visually stunning ways to celebrate the season along Florida's Emerald Coast.

The fun begins well before the 5 PM parade kick-off. From noon to 3 PM, a free lantern-making workshop lets visitors of all ages craft their own glowing creation to carry in the procession. Whether you arrive with a store-bought lantern or build one in the workshop, the only requirement is a desire to celebrate - and a willingness to let your light shine. Golf cart owners are especially welcome to deck their rides out and join the rolling parade.

After the parade, the festivities continue as participants gather around the village Christmas tree, where the giant lantern puppets take center stage for one last glowing finale. This uniquely artsy, community-spirited event is a wonderful counterpoint to the commercial holiday rush - and a perfect memory-maker for families, couples, and anyone who appreciates creative holiday traditions on the Florida Gulf Coast.
