Witness one of Destin's oldest and most treasured traditions: the 69th Annual Blessing of the Fleet. Held every Ascension Day since 1958, local pastors and community members gather on Destin Harbor to offer blessings for a safe season to the charter fishing boats and commercial vessels whose crews make their living from the Gulf.
The prayer service begins under the tent at 4:00 pm, followed by the Fleet Blessing at 5:15 pm as boats pass by the dock. Stick around afterward for a community fish fry (donations welcome). It's a meaningful, only-in-Destin experience — and the perfect way to understand the deep maritime heritage of the World's Luckiest Fishing Village.
